CANTATA NO.106 <1707>
Specific information available for subscribers.
This cantata was composed in the key of F Lydian (no B-flat). Because the organ in the church for which it was written was at a very high pitch (Chorton), the organ part was prepared in E-flat while the rest of the score was in F. Editors of the 19th-century Bach-Gesellschaft misunderstood the situation and treated E-flat as the concert key and all the other instruments (which were written in the lower Kammerton) as transposing. However, the E-flat version is impractical for the recorders; the version in F is available from Bärenreiter and Carus.
