The flautino is not the same instrument as the modern transverse piccolo. Posthorns probably played by horn players. Conductor Michael Griffith suggests the following solution for the tuned sleighbells: use 2 players, one playing normal untuned sleighbells, while the other plays the specified sleighbell pitches on glockenspiel, using brass mallets.
