Die Entführung aus dem Serail, K.384 (The Abduction from
the Seraglio): Overture (André ending) <1781–1782>
Specific information available for subscribers.
In the opera the overture elides with the first number, necessitating a concert ending for performance of the overture independently.
This commonly-used ending was provided by Johann Anton André (1775-1842): composer, music publisher, and generally acknowledged father of Mozart research.
Bärenreiter edition includes the original elided version of the overture (ending inconclusively on the dominant) as well as the André ending.
The Kalmus edition uses the title
Abduction; Luck's uses Seraglio.
