1899-1963
(b Paris, 7 Jan 1899; d Paris, 30 Jan 1963). French
Sept répons des ténèbres <1961–1962>
children's chorus (SA) male choir (SATB) boy soprano solo
Specific information available for subscribers.
Poulenc’s wish is that the soprano and alto (children's) chorus parts be sung by boys, or if necessary, women.
The solo boy soprano should not be replaced by a woman, but by a tenor soloist, if necessary.
Additionally, there is a brief tenor solo (from chorus).
