Specific information available for subscribers.
Two versions of this work are readily available. RV 610 (about 15' in duration) is the original version. RV 611 (about 23' long) is identical, except that 5 new virtuoso arias (written for particular singers) are substituted for 3 of the movements of RV 610. Several editions include all these alternatives, so as to permit performance of either of the two versions. Details vary from one edition to another.
The composer also prepared two other versions:
RV 610a (some movements adapted for double chorus)
RV 610b (single-chorus version, but without oboes, and with 2 trumpets added in several movements).
