Layout of flute parts is confusing: In the 1st mvt, piccolo is in the 1st flute part, and the 2nd flute has all the solos. Elsewhere piccolo is in the 3rd flute part. It is believed that this problem has been alleviated in the new collected edition of Nielsen's works (Hansen, beginning in 1998).
Brief Eh part (4 measures) in 2nd mvt.
I. Allegro collerico
II. Allegro comodo e flemmatico
III. Andante malincolico
IV. Allegro sanguineo
