Specific information available for subscribers.
Toy instruments: nightingale, cuckoo, 2 trumpets [G, D], drum, rattle (or perhaps ratchet?), crescent, Theebrett (tea-tray?), glass bell in B. Only the cuckoo, the glass bell, and the trumpets (which should be played by 1 player—1 toy trumpet in each hand) are given definite pitches to play. The precise nature and method of playing the tea-tray may be left to the ingenuity of the percussionist.
The 2nd mvt is a quodlibet, combining several melodies from other composers, including Mozart, Beethoven, Weber, and Wenzel Müller.
I. Allegro un poco maestoso
II. Andantino
III. Moderato
IV. "Steeple chase": Molto vivace
