Originally for piano; orchestrated by the composer, 1917.
Serenissima edition (ed. Gregory Vaught, 1996) is the composer's original orchestration.
The G. Schirmer edition is a reworking of the score by the conductor Frederick Stock, originally published in 1929, with changes in dynamics, phrasing, and orchestration. First printings (with plate no. 46121) make no mention of Stock's participation, though later reprints (no plate no.) do, and they also provide helpful prefatory material by Donna K. Anderson, Griffes' biographer. Although described as "combining Griffes’ original version with Frederick Stock's 1920 revisions," this is misleading to say the least; it is Stock's version with a few footnotes thrown in, and of course the preface to provide context.
The Luck's edition appears to be a reprint of Schirmer.
