Later borrowed to be used as the overture to the Rosamunde incidental music, and published that way in the old Breitkopf collected edition. There are certain differences in orchestration detail between that version and that of the new Bärenreiter collected edition.
N.B.: This overture in D major is not the same work as the well-known Rosamunde overture in C major, D.644, q.v. The latter was originally composed for the melodrama Die Zauberharfe.
