Several of the movements were borrowed from the composer's Israel in Egypt. Some of these borrowed movements used 3 trombones in the earlier setting, and parts for trombones are included by the editor of the Breitkopf edition with the Occasional Oratorio materials, though apparently they were not intended by Handel; nor are they found in the Bärenreiter materials.
