The revised version of this work (1905) is the one commonly played. However the firm Lienau has published orchestral material for the original 1904 version, which the composer had withdrawn. The instrumentation is the same in both versions, but the original was longer (40', with movement durations 20', 10', 10") and more demanding for the soloist.
