Although classified in BWV as a cantata, this is actually a motet.
The woodwinds are optional ("se piace") to strengthen the vocal lines. The Breitkopf and Carus editions assign the woodwind parts to ob, Eh, & 2bn.
The 2 high horn parts are designated litui [plural of lituus]—archaic Roman brass instruments that no longer existed in Bach’s time. Though horns are apparently intended, these parts are given to 2 cornets or trumpets in the Breitkopf edition by M. Schneider and the Kalmus and Luck's reprints.
