A joint composition by Berkeley (op.9) and Benjamin Britten (op.12), the composers at first chose not to reveal exactly who had written what; in 1980, Berkeley revealed that he composed the first two mvts and Britten the other two, although they collaborated on the orchestration, form and details of all 4 mvts.
