Composed as theme music for a sporting event in Czechoslovakia, and later used as the 1st movement of the composer's Sinfonietta.
An arrangement by James Olcott (Triplo Press, www.triplo.com) is said to add the final seven measures of the Sinfonietta "… for a more fulfilling and exuberant finish."
