One of the soloists is required to double on all 4 instruments. The other is not required to play synth but doubles on the other 3 instruments. It is possible, though, not necessary, to assign separate players to each of the 4 keyboards.
In addition to the percussion above, prepared piano also requires claves, maracas and various mallets.
A tape provided with performance materials may replace synth.
