Stenhammar, Wilhelm
1871-1927
(b Stockholm, 7 Feb 1871; d Stockholm, 20 Nov 1927). Swedish
Midvinter, op.24 (Midwinter; Swedish Rapsody) <1907>
chorus (optional)
Specific information available for subscribers.
Chorus sings an old psalm tune, in unison, in the middle of the work. The composer suggests the chorus be at least 40 voices; if performed without chorus, the winds which play the psalm tune should be "strengthened" (perhaps suggesting additional players), and if there is an organ available, it should be used to double the line (no organ part exists).
